Wow, it has been six months since I’ve recorded an episode of the RV Entrepreneur podcast.
I’ve missed this show so much. And you.
Earlier this year when COVID-19 shook things up I decided to take a break from the show. It was kind of the perfect storm with us having to cancel our conference in a week and deal with what felt like a heavy situation. And then one week turned into two and then somehow turned into six months.
After a while, I wasn’t sure if I was going to bring the show back. I thought maybe it had run its course.
Alyssa kept encouraging me to at least pop back on the podcast to release the last couple of episodes that I had already recorded earlier this year. I kept pushing it off because, to be honest, I didn’t know if I was done with the show or if I was ready to let it go. This podcast has meant so much to me over the past few years since it started.
But what brought me back was… you.
Over the last few months, I’ve had more and more people reach out, asking if the podcast was going to come back. I had one woman tell me about how she used to listen to the show with her late husband before they started traveling and how much the podcast meant to her. I heard stories of how this show helped people make a big change in hitting the road or starting a business.
Hearing these stories and having you guys comment on the iTunes listing and ask when the show was coming back and email or tweet or Instagram message us was the tipping point for me to come back on the RV Entrepreneur.
And the plan isn’t just to come back on the podcast to release the final episodes that I recorded earlier this year, but for the show to just come back. Period.
Thank you so much for listening and being amazing.
Today’s episode is more of an update than a full-on episode, the main purpose being to share that the podcast is coming back!
But I did want to share a little update of what has happened this year after I quit recording and what will be coming up in future episodes.
As I mentioned at the beginning of the show, the peak of COVID hit this year a few days before Alyssa and I put on our 4th annual RV Entrepreneur Summit. In the moment we had to scramble and decide to either cancel and postpone our event or move it to an online summit in less than 4 days.
In April we faced tornados in the south and felt displaced with a lot of other full-time RVers who were trying to navigate where it was okay to travel to or how to stay put when many parks were shutting down.
This summer after restrictions loosened, we spent several months searching to buy a campground in Colorado, looking at 10 different properties for sale to convert to an awesome place for other RV entrepreneurs.
And then most recently, I decided to throw my name into the hat for an investment pitch series happening on the western slope in Colorado for $250k in seed funding for our software company, Campground Booking. Never having participated in a pitch series before I really had no idea how this whole experience was going to go…
In the next few episodes, I’m going to share what happened with our conference, campground search, and the investment series. Some news is good and other news is… well, I guess you’ll just have to see in the upcoming episodes.
The upcoming series is meant to highlight some of our experiences this year in travel and business and then I will get back to some awesome interviews I have lined up with some incredible companies in the RV space — like the founders of TheDyrt and a high-end luxury RV resort and some amazing RVers who share their stories of building businesses on the road.
It’s good to be back and I’ll see you on the next episode of the RV Entrepreneur podcast. 🙂
Yay, can’t wait to listen to the new episodes!
I’m having issues downloading it on Music Bee (and iTunes wasn’t finding it either, earlier this year). “The remote server returned an error – Not Found”
Is it just my system, or is it something on the server side?
Thank you!

I don’t think we are on Music Bee! You can see all the places where we are here: https://anchor.fm/rve
Got it working through gPodder, thanks Alyssa!
I’ve had so many issues with iTunes that I’ve mostly given up on it. Glad there are other options that still let me download audio files.
I may be one of those now-rare people that still run with an mp3 player instead of carrying my phone along. I don’t see any reason to lug around a phone and risk damaging (or at least sweating on) it.
Anyway, glad Heath is back, can’t wait to listen in!
Hello I am purchasing my first RV soon. I am a traveling ER nurse. I’m getting married to a Filipina so that is a whole story on it own. One of the biggest uses of having an RV is to take my nonprofit to every state!! The nonprofit is called DAM=DADS AGAINST MOLESTERS! I won’t to use the RV to help spread the word about the organization. It should explode in popularity once I get a big break! We are unique in that we are out to stop all molestation, rape, and all sex offenses!
Any help and advice would be great! I have only camped 3 times in my life in a tent. Never in a camper or motor home. I have looked at various motor home, campers etc. I have chosen the Class A.
