If you ever find yourself in west Texas, Fredericksburg is the place you want to be. A small German town known for wine and Texas state parks, there’s a little something for everyone here.
In this video, we hike to the summit of Enchanted Rock, a state natural area known for giving amazing panoramic views of the Texas hill country. Heath and I have both hiked Enchanted Rock multiple times, but this was our first time to visit together.
(Also in this video we get lost, end up super far away from the trail, and have to cross a stream, which (unfortunately) not all of us fall into. A theme of Heath-and-Alyssa-get-lost-on-hikes seems to be arising on this channel.)
We love Enchanted Rock. During past visits, I’ve rock climbed and repelled, while Heath has stayed on the rock overnight for a little night photography.
If you only have an hour or two in the area, you can easily hike to the top of the rock. The ascent is steep, but not challenging if you are actually in shape at all 🙈 🙈 🙈
We began our descent from the top after the sun had set, but still had plenty of light to hike to the bottom, which was good considering that we didn’t have flashlights. You know, the more I talk about our experiences hiking, the more amateur we sound. 😂
