When thinking of monetizing a travel blog, most people think of Amazon affiliates, advertising, and other “passive income” strategies. But these aren’t the most efficient if you’re trying to build up revenue early on from a travel blog. Those strategies are fine, but they take way more time, knowledge, and skill than most people have or are willing to learn.
Sorry, but true.
There is a more realistic and efficient way to monetize a travel blog, which is to actually have something of value to sell from the very beginning (service or product).
In today’s 10 minute podcast with Bryanna we talk about how she was able to craft a full-time income around her virtual assistant services while continuously building an influential travel blog (and how these two things work together).

Good Afternoon Heath! I found your podcast yesterday and haven’t been able to put my phone down since. I left, what I hope you’ll think, is a great review in iTunes, under nickname Rollin’ Robyn. My husband and I start full-time RVing (or what I like to call Turtle Life), June 1st. You’re podcast is amazing and this mini-sode was quite info packed for only 10 or so minutes! Thank you for what you’re doing for young folks (really all ages) like us, looking to live this lifestyle and forget the rat race. Here’s to many more years of Open Road Wishes and Rubbertramp Dreams!
Hey Robyn!
Thank you so much for the awesome review and for being a new listener! You’re awesome 😀
Oh, and I signed up for email notifications on the Summit. I. CAN. NOT. WAIT! I’m so thrilled to be apart of this community. Thanks to you and Alyssa for helping us all get together and actually meet one day!
Oh and if on yall’s East Coast trip you find yourself in Georgia, we’re hosting at Indian Springs State Park (the oldest state park in the country!) til October!
Added my two cents.
Let me just tell you how much we loved the RVE Summit this year! You and two have really help to enrich our lives by putting these podcasts out and creating a great way to meet new ‘like-minded’ friends!
Thanks for all of your hard work.
It was so good to meet you and Maury! I’m so glad y’all came to our first Summit. It was a blast!!! Can’t wait for the next one 🙂
That makes me so happy and it was so great to meet you too Julie 🙂 thank you and hope to see you at the next one!
Heath and Alyssa:
I absolutely love your podcast. Not only can’t I wait until a new episode comes out now twice a week, but I have started from the beginning and trying to listen to all the episodes you have produced. There is always a wealth of information both from you and your guests. My wife and I are planning on going full time in September so your podcast is right up our alley. Have left a review in iTunes under the nickname viii_ball.
Thank you for what you do. I know you are headed up the east coast so if you get to the Washington DC area before September would love to buy you guys dinner.
Hey Doug! Appreciate the review so much man! I think we will be passing through DC area sometime around mid June, so would love to meet up!
Heath! I spent several hours today listening to your podcasts, after searching last night for “full-timing in Class C with tow car.” I’m so digging it, and can’t wait to spend the next 60-some hours listening to the rest! Thanks for helping to inspire me to make our dream a reality. I gave you a review just now on iTunes and meant every word! 🙂
